Plans vs. Reality
Posted on: September/01/2019
It happens in your life all the time right?
You make plans. You get pumped to get started, then...
BOOM!
Reality happens.
"In preparing for battle I have always found that plans are useless, but planning is indispensable."
Dwight D. Eisenhower
This month (August 2019) we launched DJs.com. The plans was to spend the rest of the year crushing the promotion and further development of the site.
However, reality had other ideas. Just a few days after launching the site we found out that we are required to vacate our offices in around 40 days.
That means finding a new office and moving an entire business with eight employees... in less than 40 days.
We are about 10 days into the 40 days and for me, it has been nearly consuming my thoughts and time.
Luckily Matt, the head DJs.com developer, continues to code and add to the site.
Why are we moving?
The building we are in sold. We thought the new owner would be okay with us staying until the end of the year. We were wrong and told to vacate. Not ideal
Next Steps...
We continue to attempt to focus on DJs.com. Building this community is important to us. New features will continue be added.
What will be missing? The marketing push to add new DJs to the site. Marketing falls on me, Drew... and unfortunately my schedule got hacked.
Bad for the world that needs to know about DJs.com and our direct to DJs site.
But also an opportunity and a head start for DJs that dive in early and become members.
